Scholarship Campaign 2026
We are thrilled to share updates regarding our efforts to
provide educational opportunities for indigenous students in the Colombian and
Peruvian Amazon. As part of our ongoing
campaign, we are making good progress toward our 2026 goal and are pleased to
report that we have secured scholarships for two-thirds of the students we aim
to support. This achievement is thanks
to the generous pledges and donations from individuals who believe in the
importance of education for these children.

We want to extend a warm welcome to our new sponsors and
express our heartfelt gratitude to our returning sponsors, who continue to
support the children they have been connected with. We understand the importance of maintaining
these relationships, so we make every effort to keep sponsors with the same
child. However, circumstances can change
if a child moves away or cannot continue their studies, in which case we will
assign the sponsor to another deserving student.
Over the next two weeks, we will be reaching out to our
existing sponsors via individual emails. We want to ensure everyone knows about the
ongoing scholarship initiative, as we recognize that not everyone has had the
chance to see our newsletters or social media updates.
Each student must submit their report card to verify their attendance
at the community school. |
Vista Alegre Construction Continues
On the ground in our village of Vista Alegre, we are pleased
to report that construction projects are progressing well. Recently, we completed a gasoline, oil, and
paint storage building to ensure safe practices by keeping these materials
separate from living quarters. This
facility also benefits from better ventilation, reducing potential hazards. Additionally, we’ve established a storage area
for other essential supplies.
Below are photos of the construction of our two newest structures:
a gasoline/combustible building and a storage shed.

In an exciting development, we have invested in a 13-horsepower long-tail motor, and our main contractor, Roberto, is building a 10-meter boat. This vessel will serve multiple purposes: transporting students, fetching supplies, supporting volunteers in emergencies, and generating income through tourism ventures for the village.

A New Volunteer
We would also like to welcome and thank our current volunteer from the United Kingdom in La Libertad! She has been working in the village for the past week, teaching English classes and learning about the village and the surrounding jungle. Without the selfless help of volunteers, our programs would not be possible.
The afternoon English class was well-attended. |
Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in
the lives of the students of La Libertad, Vista Alegre, and Leticia. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
